EYE EMERGENCIES

What To Do in an Emergency
An eye emergency is the sudden,
unexpected onset of:

– Eye pain
– Red eye
– Dots in vision/light flashes
– Curtain or veil over vision
– Loss or darkening of vision in one or both eyes

If you're not sure you have an emergency, phone our regular office number, day or night: 846-7822. Even if it's after office hours, you will be instructed where to call.

If you are unable to reach one of our doctors, please go to the Lynchburg General Hospital Emergency Room. There is always an ophthalmologist on call at the Emergency Room.
